AROCHUKWU: Abia State College of Education Reopens Evening Program to Empower Working Class and Aspiring Students

Abia State College of Education, Abia- In a significant move aimed at expanding educational opportunities and empowering the working class and aspiring students, the Acting Provost of Abia State College of Education (ASCETA), Mr. Ikechukwu Okorouga, announced the reopening of the college's evening program. This announcement was made during a visit by a team of journalists to the college on Monday, August 21, 2023.

Mr. Okorouga highlighted the primary objective of reopening the evening program: to provide a flexible and accessible education platform for individuals who have been unable to pursue a National Certificate in Education (NCE) due to work or other commitments.

The Acting Provost emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating that it would cater to the diverse needs and aspirations of students. He encouraged prospective students to take advantage of the evening program to pursue their desired courses, including specialized vocational skills such as hairdressing, barbering, artistry, phone repair, tailoring, and more.

He noted that the college's commitment to empowering its students extended beyond traditional academic pursuits. ASCETA's evening program aims to equip students with practical, hands-on skills that can open doors to entrepreneurial opportunities in addition to their academic qualifications.

Mr. Ikechukwu Okorouga stated, "We understand that many people have the desire to acquire an NCE qualification, but the demands of their jobs or other responsibilities have held them back. ASCETA is committed to breaking down these barriers by offering a flexible evening program that accommodates the needs of working-class individuals and other dedicated students."

ASCETA's decision to reopen the evening program reflects its dedication to promoting accessible and inclusive education, making it possible for a wider range of students to pursue their educational and career goals. This move aligns with the broader educational agenda of creating a skilled and empowered workforce in Abia State and beyond.

Prospective students interested in joining the evening program at ASCETA are encouraged to contact the college's admissions office for enrollment information. The reopening of the evening program is expected to provide a valuable opportunity for many to embark on their educational journeys while balancing work and other commitments.
